QinetiQ, Blueloop and EleV8 Aviation Transform the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Programme

In the world of aviation, where past meets present, the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) is a symbol of historic aircraft’s enduring legacy.
In 2019 the RAF began a complex project to bring the BBMF’s old, paper-based manuals into the digital age, making them easier to use and understand. The BBMF relied on legacy manuals from the 1940s, which caused challenges for modern aircraft technicians.
The result is a user-friendly system accessible via standard web browsers, making it easier for technicians to quickly access crucial information.
Blueloop hosts the secure environment – including user management, multi-factor authentication and user support – within which the electronic manuals are assembled, published and maintained. The project underwent rigorous review, vulnerability testing and approval by the BBMF Project Team and MOD.
