Microsoft Terminal Services (TS), one of the core virtualisation technologies available in Windows Server 2008, makes it possible to run an application in one location but have it be controlled in another. This is called presentation virtualisation, and with it you can install and manage applications on centralised servers in the data center; screen images are delivered to the users, and the users' client machines, in turn, send keystrokes and mouse movements back to the server.

When using Microsoft TS, administrators can present users with the individual applications and data they require to complete their task, or the whole remote desktop. From a user perspective, these applications are integrated seamlessly—looking, feeling, and behaving like local applications.

Blueloop have worked with Microsoft Terminal Services for many customers over several years. We integrate secure Terminal Services solutions utilising the tools provided by Microsoft such as IAG (Intelligent Application Gateway) as well as third party products such as Sun SGD (Secure Global Desktop) and AEP Netilla, two factor authentication from the likes of Vasco and Swivel PINsafe.
