InfoTrove Features

Search - Fully indexed "look in document" search allows users to easily find documents based on either document content or document attributes.

Document Types - InfoTrove can store files of any type including word processing documents, web pages, audio files, plain text or CAD files.

Meta Data - Associated information or "meta data" can be defined per document. Meta data can be free form or selected from standard company vocabularies.

Numbering - Each document can be assigned a unique document number allowing users to easily reference documents - an essential ingredient for your technical documents or ISO Quality Standards. Document numbering schemes can be defined per folder, and can optionally span any number of folders.

Versioning - InfoTrove keeps all versions of your documents so you can quickly and easily revert to a previous copy. Versions are labelled with a Major.Minor number scheme so users can refer to a specific version of a document. Each version can have associated comments to track what has changed between versions.

Folders - Documents can be grouped in folders and sub-folders to help organise your document library. Meta data and numbering schemes can be defined per folder type.

Checkin/Checkout - A user can checkout a document for editing, locking the document so nobody else can make changes until the edit operation is complete. Unlike shared folders on your PC, other users can still view the document when it is checked out.

Change Notification - Users can receive email notification when documents are submitted or changed. Notifications can be configured based on interest level in the document.

Emails contain full status information and log entries so users can immediately see if they need to take any action. To view the document simply click on a link and InfoTrove is automatically launched.

Email notifications are supported via any SMTP compliant mail server.

Audit Control - A detailed audit history is kept of all accesses, moves and changes so you can see exactly who did what, from where, and when.

Remote Access - All InfoTrove functions can be performed remotely via your normal browser interface - including administration and librarian tasks. InfoTrove is fully compatible with all firewalls, remote shells, and standard security schemas.

Cross Platform - Being web based, InfoTrove naturally offers cross platform support. InfoTrove does not require any OS specific browser modifications, client programs or plugins

Command Line Interface - The in-built "ibatch" command line interface supports true batch mode functionality - ideal for bulk check-ins, or for synchronizing InfoTrove with other applications.

Extensible API - A scripting API interface is provided to allow users to customise actions on checkin and checkout of information.
