‘Best Use of Teleworking’ - Winners

A local IT provider, Blueloop Limited, based in North Perrott, Nr Crewkerne have won ‘The Best Use of Teleworking’ award having been short-listed for the South West Regional Development Agency’s eCommerce Awards last week. They were invited to attend the HP Labs in Bristol where over 140 companies of 250 or less employees had applied for various categories of these prestigious IT Awards.

Blueloop were presented with the award and a cheque for £500. They have now qualified for the National Awards which will be presented in two weeks time at the Grosvenor Hotel, London. The eCommerce awards are sponsored by the DTI and Interforum with prize money for the overall winners of £50,000.

Blueloop submitted their application in July describing the tools, processes and techniques they employ to support the needs of their employees whilst working away from their office, at home and from customer or supplier sites. The application required a careful presentation of the infrastructure introduced within the company and of the sophisticated tools and technology used for remote and mobile working. Blueloop were able to demonstrate how, the innovative use of technology, provided productivity, cost and service benefits to the company and a fully integrated communication system.

Blueloop Limited were formed five years ago by Mr Jon Gerdes, Managing Director, Mr Tony Haines, Technical Director and Mr Robin Barker, Finance Director to provide integrated network services to corporates and SME’s, primarily but not exclusively based in the South West.

Robin Barker, who accepted the eCommerce award, said ‘It really is fantastic to win this award and gain greater recognition for the work we do. It’s a tremendous achievement by everyone at Blueloop and proof that our systems are innovative and cutting edge but also well implemented and delivering real benefit for our business and those of our customers.’
